TROPICAL MAMA SMOOTHIE – prenatal winter smoothie

I have switched my prenatal vitamins to Pranin Mom A to Z multivitamin on the days that I make a smoothie  (I use MegaFoods Baby and Me on days I don’t have a smoothie). All of Pranin’s products are developed by a local Vancouver Naturopath and are made from 100% plant-based, organic, real food ingredients which make it easier for your body to absorb all the nutrients. It also has no fillers which means I only need to add 1 heaping teaspoon to my smoothies or afternoon juice.

I added Pranin Mom A to Z to my favourite smoothie combination of pineapple + coconut + greens. Here is my Tropical Mama Smoothie recipe.

A Little About the Ingredients

PINEAPPLE ->  high in vit C which aids in plant-based iron absorption + contains bromelain which aids digestion
FROZEN KALE -> calcium + so many vitamins and minerals + freezing cruciferous vegetables enhances sulforaphane (which fights inflammation, prevents cancer cells from growing, reduces heart disease risk) and helps break down cell walls making them easier to digest without cooking
GINGER -> to add warmth to winter smoothies + good for inflammation and digestion
MANITOBA HARVEST HEMP HEARTS ->  good fats + 10 g protein in 3 tbsp  + zinc which helps rapid cell growth (aka creating a full grown human from scratch) + omega 3+6 which helps baby brain development and has been known to lessen the risk of developing babies getting asthma
DATES -> complex carbs
PRANIN MOM’s A to Z -> contains 25 essential nutrients needed during and post pregnancy + made from 100% plant-based, organic, real food ingredients
PRANIN IRON> 130% of easily digestible, plant-based iron (which is ideal for the chronically anaemic mamas like myself who are now pumping 40% more blood through their body)
VEGA CHLORELLA ->  helps detoxify heavy metal build up + protein + iron

serves 1

3/4 cup frozen pineapple
1-1.5 cups full-fat coconut milk
1 large handful frozen kale
1 inch ginger
1-2 dates
3 tbsp Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts
1 heaping tsp Pranin Mom’s A to Z
1 scoop Pranin Iron
2 tsp Vega Chlorella

  1. Blend in a high-speed blender.
  2. Pour in glass and stir in extra hemp hearts or top with granola.

Don’t forget to chew your smoothies for easier digestion and better absorption.
